FREE NIR WEBINAR!
"Analyzing Specialty Chemicals with Near Infrared"

About the Presenter
Dr. Todd Strother received his Analytical Chemistry Ph.D. in 2001 while working in Lloyd Smith’s lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Strother is the Near-Infrared Applications Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Madison, Wisconsin where he works on novel NIR applications across many industries. His current focus is on biological and biopharmaceutical processes and applications. Previously, Dr. Strother has worked in the biotech industry specializing in surface chemistries used in protein microarrays and multiplexed immunoassays. Additionally, he holds a graduate degree in Science Education and has taught in both secondary and post-secondary institutions.
Specialty Chemicals is a highly varied segment of the chemicals market that runs the gamut of products from pigments to flavorings to performance polymers. Typical applications include raw material identification, chemical batch reaction, drying monitoring and solids blending. Analytical instrumentation, especially FT-Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, plays a critical role in providing solutions for lab-based and online measurements.

In addition, a new European Union (EU) regulation governing chemical use, "Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of CHemicals" (REACH), has been enacted that requires testing of all chemicals for environmental impact and human toxicity. This not only affects chemical producers in the EU but also anyone, worldwide, who exports to and imports from the EU. Attend this webinar and find out how you can use NIR to:

• Ensure consistent product quality
• Reduce risk of producing out-of-specification products
• Aid compliance with REACH regulations

All attendees will receive a FREE technical note with guidance on complying with REACH legislation!
The Webinar is 30 minutes followed with 15 minutes for questions and answers.
