Prevent 24 VDC Overloads from Stopping Production
Previously, the 24 VDC power supplies that feed control circuits in automation systems were rugged and dependable, but not very efficient. They handled overloads and rarely failed, but they wasted energy and pumped heat into control cabinets. Using switch-mode power supply is a better option. They are smaller and more energy-efficient than linear units, however, switch-mode power supplies cause problems that linear supplies did not.
